Reviews can be the make-or-break factor for success on any e-commerce platform, and with over 6 million sellers for shoppers to choose from, this rings especially true on Amazon. That’s why Amazon introduced the Vine Program, which allows sellers looking for a review springboard an opportunity to build their credibility and boost their brand.

Modern online shoppers are the most informed consumers in history. That, combined with record-high inflation rates, means your potential customers are much more cautious with their money and are doing their homework before they spend it. A hefty degree of that final purchase decision hinges on the reviews and experiences of other shoppers and Amazon has noticed.

Amazon has invited the most discerning and engaged reviewers on the platform to serve as Vine Voices. Vine Voices have the unique opportunity to receive items free of charge and share their unbiased product experiences with Amazon customers to help them make informed buying decisions.

How Does It Work:

Brand Registered Sellers with less than 30 reviews can enroll up to 30 units of a particular SKU that will then be offered to Vine Voices on a complimentary basis. The item must be in ‘New’ Condition, have available FBA inventory, and the listing must have an image and a product description. There is a $200 enrollment fee for each parent ASIN enrolled, which will be charged upon receiving your first Vine review.

For the first 28 days of enrollment, Amazon will only offer your product to a targeted group of Vine Voices whose purchase patterns generally fall within your category. If there is still remaining inventory after those initial 28 days, Amazon will offer it to all Vine Voice reviewers. From there, the general expectation is that your product will begin to gain reviews from trusted, insightful, and influential consumers.

The Pros:

The Vine Program gives sellers an opportunity to showcase newly launched products and build credibility and visibility on the platform.

Reviews received through the Vine program tend to be more thorough and helpful than the average customer review, and are more likely to include videos and images.

Reviews are proven to have a massive effect on increased conversion rates, which ultimately leads to improved best seller ranking and increased ordered product sales.

The Cons:

Sellers are ultimately responsible for covering the cost of their product plus the Amazon Vine enrollment fee.

Once a Vine Voice receives your product, it can take 4-8 weeks to receive a review.

Vine Voices are not required to leave a review in exchange for your product, nor are they under any obligation to leave a positive review.

Should I enroll my products in Vine?

Amazon prides itself on being the most customer friendly platform available, and the Vine program offers shoppers valuable product insights and peace of mind in their decision to purchase.

For sellers, online product reviews are the new word-of-mouth advertising. Listings can get bogged down by flippantly written customer reviews based entirely on highly unique personal experiences or frustrations, but Vine Voices are chosen for their high quality impartial and articulate product feedback. This added credibility on your Product Detail Page could be exactly what you need to improve your sales and boost your brand.
