What is Listing Optimization?

Amazon Listing Optimization is a strategic process of increasing search visibility on your product/brand to increase an organic ranking for relevant keywords.

There are a few factors to focus on when it comes to optimization.
  • Product Title: Including various keywords into a readable, coherent title.
  • 5 Bullet Points: Giving the potential buyer a clearer understanding of your product. Focusing on important details, while incorporating additional keywords.
  • Description: Have leftover keywords that just don’t fit? Place them in here! But again, ensure you are creating coherent sentences while still describing your product. This can also be an overall summary of your bullet points.
  • Images: Follow Amazon requirements for dimensions. Include quality product and lifestyle images to intrigue the potential buyer.
  • Backend Keywords: Backend hidden search terms to increase visibility that may not have fit in your listing.
Here at Marketplace Velocity, we utilize third-party tools and data analytics to research a wide variety of relevant search terms to your specific product.

Performance Determines Your Ranking On Amazon

Ideally, you want to organically be on Amazon’s first page when a customer searches for what they need. Amazon Algorithm, or A9, determines where your listing will be placed based on a few elements:
  • Click-Through-Rate (CTR): This metric measures whether customers were finding what they were looking for when coming across your listing.
  • Relevant Keywords: Various search terms leading the customer to find what they are searching for. Ultimately, converting to a sale.
  • Customer Reviews and Satisfaction: Better customer satisfaction = better ranking.
  • Prices: Keeping your prices competitive with other sellers. This also helps ensure you have the buy box on this specific product.
Following these tips and tricks will assist you in increasing your visibility on Amazon. This is just the start of it, we haven’t dove into advertising on Amazon yet.
